Jewish Genealogical Society of Tampa Bay - 8 June 2008

Are you stuck, or are you having trouble getting started in researching your family's history? Help is on the way! The Jewish Genealogical Society of Tampa Bay will meet at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 8th at Gulf Coast Jewish Family Services, 14041 Icot Blvd., Clearwater, Fla. for a hands-on workshop for individual research using both Internet and our own extensive library resources. Several experienced JGS mentors will be available to provide guided assistance at this working session.

The workshop will begin with an overview of genealogical resources available in print and online. This will be followed by the actual use of these resources for your own individual research under the guiding hands of our experienced mentors. Several computers with Internet connection will be available. The JGSTB library holdings are listed at <http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~fljgstb/library.htm>. Attendees should bring with them all prior research about the families they are researching. This workshop is intended to help you to build upon what you know.

FGS Tampa Meeting - June 21, 2008

The Florida Genealogical Society will hold its monthly meeting on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 10:30 AM in the Auditorium of the John F. Germany Library at 900 North Ashley Drive in Downtown Tampa. We are pleased to present Travis Puterbaugh, Collections Manager of the Tampa Bay History Center, in a program designed to share the important and unique materials at the Center that highlight our wonderful history. A new Tampa Bay History Center is being constructed in the Channelside District and will showcase a wealth of historical materials that preserve the legacy of this important part of American History. We hope you will join us for an important program that will highlight your study of history and culture in the wonderful area in which we live and research.
